Benefits of E-styling

My husband and I purchased our first home last summer. It was such an exciting time and I was counting down the days until I could put my design stamp on our clean-slate new build. But, once the excitement faded, one question came to mind: how are we supposed to fill/decorate this big house when all that we currently own can fit into a 2 bedroom apartment???

Finding furnishings and decor is literally my job, and the task seemed overwhelming to me. That is the beauty of e-styling. When you feel overwhelmed or stumped, you can hire me to guide you! But, you don’t have to have just moved into a home to use it! Maybe you are creating a home office, or want to spice up your living room, etc! Here are 5 reasons you should choose e-styling for your next home project:

1. it is faster than typical design work

A typical design project can last a few months to a few years. There is a lot of time waiting for quotes, going back and forth on selections, etc. When it comes to e-design, the project typically lasts a few weeks (it could be even faster if the client is quick to respond). I use Trello to work with my clients, which allows me to upload an image/link for a product and the client can immediately tell me if they like it or if they want to see more options. Depending on the size of the space, with quick response an e-design project could be finished in 1 week.

2. it is budget friendly

Because this service is faster and less labor-intensive, it is way more budget-friendly. I charge per square foot for full design work, but only $200/$300 per room for e-design. Not only is the actual charge for the service more affordable, but the products that are selected are typically lower cost. For example, I typically only select products that are in stock and primarily items that are in stock nearby the client so they can try them out. Meaning, you are not receiving custom furnishings/decor, but readily available products that have lower price points.

In addition, you are not obliged to purchase any product that I suggest. So, you could pay for the service, get my suggestions and then find even more affordable dupes or wait for sales!

My goal in all of my design work is to help any client create a home they love to live in. Timeless design that tells your story does not have to come at a huge cost.

3. it allows for client flexibility

As stated before, in e-styling the client has total control of the speed, price point, and size of the project. Once I turn over the product list (with exact links), floor plan and mood board over to the client and receive the second half of the payment, you are free to do whatever you want with the information. Maybe you need furniture and decor inspiration for a home that you are building, and you don’t move in for a few months - you can send me the floor plan and I can curate the furnishings for you and you don’t have to act on any of it until you are ready. Maybe something I suggest seems too expensive - you can use my suggestion to find a more affordable option. The whole process is really up to you!

4. it can be done from anywhere

My personal favorite part of e-styling is that I can help clients from all over the world! Don’t get me wrong, I love helping my local Indy clients and being a art of creating charming, timeless homes for central Indiana, but there is something really special about helping people everywhere create homes they love to live in on any budget.

5. it produces great results

You would be surprised how much of an impact changing paint colors, light fixtures, and pillows can have on a space. Refreshing your space does not have to mean tearing down walls and adding windows, etc. Creating a space that suits you and your family’s needs, while also being timeless and budget friendly is easier to attain than one might think.

I promise if you decide to use e-styling to transform your home you will not regret it!
